Business highlight: online retail
The Find Auctions
This is where a passion for small business truly began. Over a decade ago, two friends in the thick of growing their young families stumbled upon a unique social selling opportunity. The premise was simple. Meet young moms right where they were, with a novel approach to shopping. Through the power of social networks forming on Facebook, we developed a weekly curated selection of fashion, home decor, gifts and more only available in limited quantities. It was like “must see TV” and developed a cult-like following.
Quickly picked up by local and national press, The Daily Candy daily lifestyle blog catapulted The Find Auctions into an early boom.
This business was the definition of the emerging mom-preneuer and after one year of building, the business entity was valued over six figures and packaged for sale.
Strategy, design, operations, management and, of course all marketing helped create an enduring brand that successfully operates under new branding and ownership today.
when a consumer need drives a business idea
When your business is born out of a way to meet a true consumer need, you have something really special on your hands.
And, when you dig deep and uproot the underlying motivations, desires and aspirations…well, you’re able to connect in a powerful way.
The Find was a way to meet women right where they are, adding convenient shopping that created energy. This was long before the days of influencers or Amazon at your finger tips. No one had even heard of Instagram yet…
We tapped into the secret sauce. We saw our ideal audience (because WE were the ideal audience) and we developed and delivered a product that could spark joy.
